Hawaii County gives nod to $12.5M bond to build prosecutor's office

The Hawaii County Council has voted to approve a $12.5 million bond for construction of a new county prosecutor building on the Big Island’s Kona side.

West Hawaii Today reports the bill authorizing a bond to build a 16,000-square-foot two-story building at the West Hawaii Civic Center complex in Kailua-Kona must go through one more hearing before it can become law. The newspaper reports the bill is likely to be signed by Mayor Harry Kim, who requested the bond issue.
